Kerikeri Township is bounded by the Kerikeri Inlet, Kerikeri Road and Kerikeri Inlet Road in the east, Access Road in the south, the Puketotara Stream and the Kerikeri Heritage Bypass in the west and Landing Road in the northwest.
Kerikeri is thought to be named from Māori words meaning “to keep on digging” or “rushing violently”.
