Pukerua Bay-Plimmerton is bounded by the Tasman Sea in the north and west, Paekākāriki Hill and State Highway 1 in the east, Grays Road and Taupo Crescent in the south Pukerua translated means 'two hills'. Plimmerton is named after John Plimmer, director of the Wellington & Manawatu Railway Company. Hongoeka is named after the historic Ngāti Toa settlement of the same name.
